Spiritual Gifts: by by R. Paul Stevens
Author: R. Paul Stevens
|"You will receive power" were Jesus' last words to his disciples. But where is that power today? Through spritual gifts God continues to empower and build his church. This LifeGuide explores what spiritual gifts are, what their role is in the body and how we can discover which gifts God has given us. The studies examine key passages on spiritual gifts and look at specific examples of how they were manifested in the early church.|

You are unique.
You have been created and invited by God to participate in his kingdom work.
Yet, you have probably also experienced feelings of uncertainty about how to serve God, about what gifts you have to use, and about God's purpose for your life.
In these studies, R. Paul Stevens helps you to recognize your spiritual gifts and the gifts of others. And he leads you to consider how to practically use these gifts to glorify God in your relationships, your work and your world.
This revised LifeGuide Bible Study features additional questions for starting group discussions and for meeting God in personal reflection, together with expanded leader's notes and a "Now or Later" section in each study.

Since the 1960s there has been a groundswell of interest in spiritual
gifts. Some of this is associated with the charismatic renewal, the one
truly global renewal movement I have witnessed in my own lifetime. I
am grateful for this emphasis on the unique giftedness of every person
in the family of God for service in the church and the world
through the Spirit.
My life work has been to seek in every way possible to liberate the
"laity" (the whole people of God) by helping them understand that
ministry is not something which "ministers" do exclusively, but
instead part of the genetic code of all of God's people. Understanding
our spiritual gifts is a critical part of seeing how we are called to participate
in ministry and therefore in God's global renewal work.
